Former player of Asante Kotoko, Stephen Manu has expressed his doubts about the club’s chances of retaining the Ghana Premier League title.
His comment was on the back of Kotoko’s disappointing exit from the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League encounter against RC Kadiogo at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupines lost 3-1 on penalties to the Burkinabes, having conceded a goal to level the aggregate scoreline.
Speaking on Pure FM, Mane stated that he is uncertain if Kotoko are strong enough to defend the trophy.
“Per what I saw [on Sunday] from the performance of the team if they are to replicate this same performance I am sure they can’t retain the league title.”
The reigning champions will now have to put smiles on the faces of their fans when they come up against their arch- rivals Hearts Of Oak this weekend at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
