Former Deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah has thrown his support for Chris Hughton to be appointed as Black Stars head coach.
Coach Otto Addo stepped down as the gaffer of the senior national team after Ghana early exit from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The GFA is yet to name a replacement for the 47-year-old with three months left for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Asamoah believes that Hughton is competent enough to succeed the Dortmund talent coach.
“If Otto Addo is gone, I still believe they should appoint someone from the existing technical team to handle the team. If the technical advisor Chris Hughton is ready, I’m all for him.” Vincent Oppong Asamoah told Oyerepa FM.
The announcement of a new Black Stars head coach is expected to be finalized after a meeting between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the coming days.
