Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association, Randy Abbey says “everybody involved” in Black Stars poor campaign in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has taken the blame including the Football Association.
The West African powerhouse suffered early exit from the tournament after they failed to secure a victory in any of their group stage matches.
Ghana played two draws and a defeat and finished third in Group B, trailing behind Cape Verde and Egypt.
This setback marks Ghana’s second consecutive failure to progress beyond the group stage of the continental showpiece, with their previous exit occurring during AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
“Everybody involved has taken the responsibility The players, the coach and the FA. Everyone has a role to play in ensuring that, there’s a success. All those who have role to play have accepted their responsibilities” Abbey said in a media engagement on Wednesday in Kumasi
A five-member committee has been instituted to recommend a new coach to the Executive Council for the Football Association in 21 days following the dismissal of Chris Hughton.
