Everton fans not happy Jordan Ayew wasn’t sent off for tackle against Anthony Gordon

Everton fans were furious after Jordan Ayew survived a VAR check for a red card and then scored for Crystal Palace seconds later.

Ayew collided with Toffees forward Anthony Gordon as Palace led 1-0 at Goodison Park on Thursday. Referee Anthony Taylor issued a yellow card before consulting with VAR to see whether the on-field judgement should be improved.

Despite a strong two-footed challenge, the Palace attacker escaped and shortly scored his team’s second goal of the night.

His goal against Everton was his first away goal in the Premier League since June 2020. His last away goal was scored against AFC Bourne mouth in June 2020.

Everton fans, on the other hand, got the last laugh as their team produced an incredible second-half comeback to secure their Premier League status. Michael Keane and Richarlison equalized before Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s 85th minute goal triggered wild celebrations.
