Winger Joseph Paintsil has expressed his disappointment after Genk failed to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Europa Conference League.
Paintsil started and lasted 84 minutes in Genk’s last group game on Thursday.
He recovered from a penalty miss to score as his outfit inflicted a 2-0 home win over Serbian side Cukaricki.
Despite the win, Genk got eliminated after finishing third in Group F.
Painstil took to his Twitter handle to express his disappointment following his outfit elimination from the Conference League.
“Disappointed we couldn’t make it to the next stage but there is a lot ahead to fight for. Thank you #genkies for the support.” he wrote on his twitter handle.
The 25-year-old scored two goals and provided one assist in five games during the group stages.
