Ghanaian international, Godsway Donyoh was in action for his Neftçi Baku side on Thursday evening when the team secured qualification to the next round of the playoffs for next season’s Europa Conference League.
The Azerbaijan Premier League side yesterday hosted Aris Limassol in the second leg of their encounter.
Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, Neftçi Baku needed to get things right to stand any chance of progressing to the next round of the qualifiers.
Thanks to the excellent display of Godsway Donyoh and his teammates, the Azerbaijani team produced the needed magic.
On the matchday, Ghana’s Godsway Donyoh opened the scoring for the team in the 38th minute of the season half.
After the break, goals from Eddy Pascual and Kenny Saife propelled Neftçi Baku to a 3-0 win to ensure the team overcame Aris Limassol with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
The victory has seen the team from Azerbaijan advancing to the next round of the qualification to the group stage of the Europa Conference League.
