Ernest Opoku, Jayden Addai shine as AZ AIkmaar thrash Real Madrid

Ghanaian youngsters Ernest Opoku and Jayden Addai played a key role as AZ AIkmaar ease past Real Madrid 4-0 in the UEFA Youth Champions League playoff at the AFAS Training Complex.

Addai netted in the 29th minute following an assist by compatriot Opoku after Daniel Beukers had given the Dutch side the advantage.

Mexx Merdink added the third in the 78th minute before Beukers doubled his tally for the afternoon five minutes from time.

Addai lasted for 73 minutes while Opoku was replaced ten minutes later.

The win means AZ AIkmaar have now progressed to the next stage of the 2022/23 Uefa Youth Champions League campaign.
