Enugu Rangers to use second-string side for Ghana President's Cup

Enugu Rangers will use a second-string side to play in Ghana’s President’s Cup in July due to their busy calendar, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

The Nigerian Premier League side were invited by the Ghana League Clubs Association as one of two foreign clubs for the four-team competition.

But the Flying Antelopes are anticipating to qualify to the Group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup and will be preparing for the mini-tournament.

They hold a 1-0 first leg win against CS Sfaxien ahead of the return leg on the weekend of 31 May- 2 June away.

Also, Rangers have got three outstanding matches to play in the Nigerian Premier League and will need their regulars to clear those games.

Egyptian side Ismaili have also been invited for the tournament which is played every year on 1 July to commemorate Ghana’s Republic Day anniversary.

The two other participants from the Ghana Premier League will be selected from an SMS voting system.
