Former Ghanaian footballer Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has expressed his admiration for the Black Satellites’ performance in the WAFU Zone B U20 Championship.
Despite a 2-1 loss to Nigeria in the final, the team secured a spot in the Africa U20 Cup of Nations next year, marking their return to the tournament since 2021.
Badu is confident that this team has the potential to excel on the big stage, following their impressive showing in the championship.
“Yes I was well impressed with the team. I watched all their games against Benin, Togo, Niger and Nigeria as well. They have been playing well, they will go down and fight back and come and win games,” He told 3Sports.
“I know Desmond, very good coach, well intelligent. They have qualified for the AFCON, we wanted to win the Cup, the WAFU.
“However, we couldn’t but finals is not that bad. We have qualified. Let’s keep supporting them to build a team that can win the AFCON,” he added.
