Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has expressed regret for publicly supporting Otto Addo’s reappointment as head coach of the Black Stars.
Badu was one of those who advocated for Addo’s return after Chris Hughton’s departure.
However, just seven months into Addo’s second stint, Ghana is on the verge of missing the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars have only accumulated two points from four AFCON qualifiers, trailing both Angola and Sudan in Group F.
“I apologise [as I was part] of those who advocated for the second coming of coach Otto Addo. If you go into my interviews, I gave him massive support but I’m sorry,” he said.
“It seems the task is beyond him,” He added
Since returning to the helm, Addo has only won two games, lost three, and drawn three.
The defeat to Sudan now means the Black Stars must win their final two qualifying games in November and hope for Sudan to drop points, in order to secure a ticket to Morocco.
