Egypt will play Uganda tomorrow (Monday) in a friendly meant to sharpen them for next month’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier first leg playoff.
The Cranes have stepped in for Sierra Leone who pulled out of an initial friendly fixed for last Saturday, 28 September.
Al Ahly have recalled all players in Egypt’s camp to prepare for next week’s CAF Champions League semi-final first-leg against Coton Sport of Cameroon.
“Uganda’s delegation will arrive in Egypt on Monday morning,” Egypt’s goalkeeping coach Abdel-Fattah, who usually acts as a spokesman for the technical staff, said in a television interview on Sunday.
“We will play this game without Ahly’s players and our foreign-based footballers, but it will be an important game for the team’s technical staff as we are looking to prepare other players for Ghana’s clash.”
The Pharaohs will play Ghana on 15 October at the Baba Yara Stadium with the return leg fixed for 19 November in Cairo.
