Ghanaian teenager Edmund Baidoo was on the scoresheet as Red Bull Salzburg grabbed a 4-2 win over Rapid Wien in the Austrian Bundesliga Championship Group on Saturday.
The 19-year-old netted Salzburg’s third goal in the 24th minute, finishing off a neat pass from Malian teammate Dorgeles Nene with confidence.
Salzburg were in control from the start, scoring twice in the first 11 minutes through Oscar Gloukh and Nene. Rapid Wien pulled one back through Andrija Radulovic, but Baidoo quickly restored the two-goal cushion before halftime.
Nene struck again in the second half with a powerful shot from outside the box, making it 4-1. Rapid’s Guido Burgstaller added a late goal, but it was only a consolation.
The victory also strengthens Salzburg’s dominance in this fixture which was their 37th win in 62 matches against Rapid Wien.
