Ghanaian defender Ebenezer Annan will miss the Black Stars’ upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali after suffering an injury setback.
The 23-year-old left-back picked up the knock during Saint-Étienne’s Ligue 2 clash with US Boulogne and is expected to be sidelined for three weeks, ruling him out of contention for the crucial fixtures.
Annan, who recently joined the French side on a three-year deal from Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, had been tipped for a call-up to Chris Hughton’s squad.
His absence is a setback for Ghana as they push to strengthen their qualification chances for the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Despite being unavailable, Annan has vowed to support the team from the sidelines.
