Ghana U20 star midfielder Alfred Duncan says his equaliser at Empoli remains the most important goal of his young career and dedicates it to his mother.
The Black Satellites midfield workhorse, 20, ensured Livorno ensured a priceless away draw at Empoli in the final stages of the Serie A promotion series.
The Inter Milan loanee fired a cracking low drive from the edge of the area home in the 72nd minute to cancel out Francesco Tavano’s first-half half-hour opener for the host at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
Duncan continued to star in the middle providing the power and aggression needed to help steer Davide Nicola’s men.
And after his immense contribution to the draw, he reveals his mother back in Accra, has provided the biggest support for him and wants to see him win promotion with Livorno.
“One of the most important goals scored since I started playing football and would always remember it. I dedicate this goal to my mum who has been suffering for the past two weeks just to see my Serie A promotion with Livorno,” he said after the game.
The goal marks his second since joining Livorno from Inter at the second half of the season in 21 games.
