Dreams FC’s dynamic duo, John Duku Antwi and Godfred Atuahene, have earned coveted spots in Ghana’s provisional squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire. Head Coach Chris Hughton submitted a 55-man list to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), unveiling the inclusion of these two talented players in an announcement on Wednesday.
Antwi, a seasoned 31-year-old striker with experience at Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC, Ismaily SC, and Pyramids FC, has been a standout performer for Dreams FC in the CAF Confederation Cup. With four goals and one assist in seven appearances, his contribution has been pivotal to the team’s success in the continental competition.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old midfielder Atuahene has played a crucial role in Dreams FC’s domestic and continental campaigns this season. With one goal in central midfield during the Confederation Cup and a total of 11 appearances in the Ghana Premier League, he adds youthful energy to the squad.
As CAF regulations dictate, Hughton is set to finalize the 23-man squad roster for the tournament by January 3, 2024.
