Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association, Kingsley Osei Bonsu, has stressed that the performance of the Black Stars should not be used as the sole measure to assess the GFA.
Following the Black Stars’ disappointing back-to-back defeats against Mexico and the USA in FIFA International friendlies, there has been a lot of criticism directed at the Ghana Football Association.
However, Bonsu contends that the GFA’s administration has put forth their best efforts in ensuring good performance.
He believes that accountability for the team’s output should be attributed to the players and the Black Stars’ technical team.
“Sometimes people assess the performance of the FA, based on the Black Stars performance but I don’t think that is the best thing,” Bonsu told Service radio Sunyani.
“If I’m an administrator, I do what is expected of me aside as putting the Black Stars into a good shape.
“When you get to the field is between two teams and they determine our faith and maybe we are defeated, we shouldn’t blame administration whiles playing body and the technical team are there without any blames.”
Ghana will face Madagascar in group B opener in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
