As the Division One League (DOL) Super Cup prepares to kick off on Monday, participating clubs underwent a comprehensive orientation seminar on Sunday.
The event, held at the Nana Konamansah Park—where the tournament will be hosted—gathered all eight clubs involved in this year’s competition.
The orientation was attended by club officials and selected players from each of the participating teams.
They were warmly welcomed by the Chairman of the DOL Super Cup Committee, Samuel Opoku Nti, who emphasized the importance of the tournament and the opportunities it presents for showcasing talent and sportsmanship.
“You are all warmly welcomed for this important tournament. For you as players, this is good for your career and you must take this tournament serious because you don’t know who is watching,” he said.
“I also wish to advise all of you to reduce the time you spend on social media and invest them in your careers. This is what you have chosen and so you must work for it,” he added.
A significant part of the seminar was dedicated to briefing the teams on the tournament regulations. This included guidelines on conduct, match procedures, and the responsibilities of both players and officials. The session aimed to ensure that all participants are well-prepared and informed ahead of the competition.
The event also featured an address by the President of Nsoatreman FC, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, who is currently Ghana’s Minister of Employment and Labour Relations. In his speech, he advised the players to maintain discipline and respect the decisions of referees during the tournament. His words were a reminder of the importance of fair play and integrity in sports.
The DOL Super Cup is set to commence on Monday morning, featuring an exciting line-up of matches.
