Division Two League: Benab FC qualify for Middle League play-off after win against Namoro FC

Benab on Saturday sold out a vintage performance to defeat Namoro 3-1 in their Zone 6 Ashanti Region Movie House Division Two League.

The match-day 12 thrilling fix­ture, played at the Atonsu Astro Turf saw Benab winning the zone in grand style and qualifying to the middle League.

The ‘Everything By God’ side opened a seven-point lead off the pack with two games to spare.

Namoro who were looking to close the gap to one took an early lead after the referee awarded them a penalty on the 7th minute.

The game which was full of aggression and intensity saw Benab equalized just before the break through leading marksman Prince Balladom.

After the recess, Benab took took the lead through a stunner from 14 year-old Danger after cutting in from the right side.

On a day that everything seemed to be going bad, Namoro were reduced to 10-men following a poor challenge on Danger.

Things got from bad to worse for the determined all-fighting visitors when Prince got his second of the day, from Enoch’s sweet pass to put the game to bed for Benab.

Benab captain Gilbert received his marching orders following a poor challenge on the visitors attacker.

The Sepe-timpom based side held on to their lead until the blast of the final whistle..

Benab haven’t only qualified but they achieved that in a very good fashion remaining unbeaten after 12 games, boasting of 10 wins, 2 draws and at the summit with 32 points.

The latest qualification is their fourth in a row after making it in the previous three.

Coach Abu Adam’s side will use the rest of the two games against Kaaseman and Bafag Rainbow to prepare for the forthcoming Middle League.
