Dutch youngster of Ghanaian descent, Jeremie Frimpong was among the star performers for Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday evening when the team defeated Paderborn in the German DFB Pokal.

The versatile player started on the right-midfield for his team and as usual, performed to the delight of his manager and the fans.

Following a bright start to the game, Bayer Leverkusen took an early lead through striker Victor Okoh Boniface in the 12th minute.

Subsequently, the German Bundesliga leaders equalised again in the 28th minute. This time around it was Exequiel Palacios on the scoresheet as he was assisted by Jeremie Frimpong.

Later in the second half, Jeremie Frimpong also assisted forward Patrik Schick to get his name on the scoresheet for Bayer Leverkusen.

Although Paderborn would net a consolation through Sebastian Klaas, it was not enough to save the side from a 3-1 defeat.

After the round 16 victory, Bayer Leverkusen are through to the quarter-final stage of this season’s DFB Pokal in Germany.
