After defeating Troyes 1-0 at home on Friday, RC Lens gained a temporary lead in the Ligue 1 rankings thanks to a goal from Kevin Danso in the first half.
As usual, Franck Haise’s squad played aggressively to earn a victory that gave them 17 points after seven games, one more than champions Paris St. Germain, who play Stade Brest on Saturday.
After six minutes, Lois Openda nearly scored for Lens as they engaged in their typical offensive style of play but struck the post.
However, they were rewarded six minutes before halftime when Danso headed in a cross from Przemyslaw Frankowski.
RC Lens wasted a lot of chances to extend their lead but the visitors posed no threat to the Blood and Gold.
