Ghana’s referee Daniel Laryea has arrived back in the country after completing a successful assignment at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The experienced official was selected among CAF’s elite referees for the 35th edition of the continental tournament, a recognition of his growing stature in African football officiating.
During the competition, Laryea handled multiple responsibilities and drew widespread praise for his performance throughout the tournament.
His biggest moment came when he was trusted with officiating the high-profile semi-final clash between Nigeria and Morocco, a match he managed with composure and authority.
Upon his arrival at the Kotoka International Airport on Saturday, Laryea received a warm hero’s welcome from jubilant supporters.
Laryea is currently Ghana’s number one referee and has been a member of the FIFA International Referees list since 2014.
