Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea has earned selection for the CAF Interclub Quarter-Finals Preparation Course scheduled for March 4–8, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt.
The experienced official will participate in the programme as both a FIFA Center Referee and a FIFA VAR Referee.
Laryea has been on the FIFA referees list since 2014 and is considered one of the continent’s seasoned match officials.
His journey began in 2012 when, at just 24, he handled his first Ghana Premier League game between Medeama SC and Berekum Chelsea.
Two years later, he secured his FIFA badge, opening doors to major international assignments.
Over the years, he has officiated at WAFU tournaments, CHAN competitions, CAF Interclub matches, the Women’s Champions League and the Africa Cup of Nations.
He has also served as an Assistant Video Assistant Referee in several CAF competitions, including the Women’s Champions League.
Domestically, his latest high-profile appointment was the Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in Kumasi, which Hearts won 1-0.
On the continental stage, he recently impressed at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
One of his standout performances came in the semifinal fixture between hosts Morocco and Nigeria.
His inclusion in the Cairo course underscores his growing reputation among Africa’s elite referees.
