Current Black Stars lack intensity in their play – Laryea Kingston

Former Ghana midfielder, Laryea Kingston has analyzed why the performance of the Black Stars have not been impressive of late.

Speaking to Sienu TV, he noted that there is lack of intensity in how the Black Stars play these days.

According to him, this is below the standards required in modern Football and that is why the national team struggles in games.

For the Black Stars to do well, Laryea Kingston proposes that the team should press and improve the build up play.

“The intensity of our play is very low. Now football has change. We have to hard press. We must not make it comfortable for the opponent especially when we are playing at home.

“Again our buildup is very slow. We don’t see one transition in our play. So for me sitting back as a technical person we have to add intensity to our play and trust me with the quality that we have we can smack most teams,” Laryea Kingston said.

Ghana will be competing at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast early next year.

The Black Stars are in Group B and will compete with Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.
