As Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira shapes his squad one player who could be the perfect heir for veteran midfielder James McArthur is Malachi Boateng.
The promising 20-year-old midfielder is currently on loan with Scottish Championship club Queen’s Park and is excelling in his new job in Scotland, scoring one goal and providing one assist in seven games so far.
The youthful player has made 53 defensive midfield appearances, but his ability to also pose an attacking danger by helping to score goals might make him the ideal central midfielder to succeed McArthur, who is presently dealing with injury troubles and is towards the end of his career.
McArthur, who plays as the midfield tempo in the middle of the pitch, is tough in his defensive responsibilities like the young Palace talent. Boateng would seem to be capable of doing that, but more importantly, having the resources to succeed offensively as well.
