Coritiba vs Juventude – 10/07/2022

12th meets 19th in the Brazilian Serie A this Sunday with Coritiba welcoming Juventude to the Couto Pereira Stadium with the home side aiming to get a rare two wins on the bounce after a narrow victory last time out.
While Coritiba are back in the win column and hoping to make moves up the league table, things are very different for Juventude, who could see themselves at the foot of the table in next to no time if poor form continues.

As of now, the only thing that separates them from sitting 20th in Serie A is the torrid form of Fortaleza, who sit with a point less at the bottom.
What’s more, Juventude now find themselves with a six-point gap already to make up on the safe zone, with them in absolutely dreadful form and looking doomed already for the second tier.
Worse yet, the 19th-placed side also sit with just two wins all season long, and combine this with their 26 goals conceded after 15 games, they sit as the worst defensive side in the league with the fewest wins on their record too.
On the other hand, with 13 goals scored of their own, they are not the lowest scorers in the divisions, with this tally being more than 13th-placed America-MG.
The biggest concern for the club, however, is the constant lack of form, with them now having gone over a month without a win, which spans their winless run to six games, with five of them being defeats.
In fact, with a goalless draw against Sao Paulo being their only point from the past 18 available, they are the worst side in the league right now based on recent matches.
Things have got slightly better for Coritiba, however, with them finally back in the win column after also going six games without a victory.
This saw them lose three and draw the other three fixtures, with their recent win coming against Fortaleza. Even this result came with many questions though, with Coritiba needing to wait until the 94th minute to get a win over a side sitting bottom of the table.
Gustavo Morinigo does now see his side back in the Copa Sudamericana spots, however, with them also back to within six points of the Libertadores qualifiers positions too.
It’s near impossible to back Juventude this season, as their form is so poor. Forebet predicts a win for Coritiba and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
