Ghana Football Association Executive Council Member Nana Oduro Sarfo has asked Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to stop “making cheap football politics” and focus on his primary lawmaking job.
On Monday night, the Parliamentarian revealed an astonishing AFCON budget of US$8.5 million (equivalent to GHS 105 million) allocated by the Ghanaian government and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for Black Stars’ participation in the ongoing 2023 AFCON tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.
Ghana had a disastrous campaign, exiting the group stages after featuring in three matches without a win.
“Okudzeto Ablakwa should concentrate on developing policies rather than discussing cheap football politics ” he told Asempa FM.
After the exit from the competition, coach Chris Hughton was sacked and the entirety of the technical team was dissolved.
The GFA had announced a five committee to search for a new head coach for the Black Stars.
