Comprehensive wrap: Performance of Ghanaian players across the globe

There was a drought weekend for Ghanaian players abroad with no player scoring in a recognisable European top-flight league.

However, AIK Solna loanee Kwame Amponsah-Karikari scored twice in the Turkish second-tier division while Ghana U20 forward Ebenezer Assifuah’s Swiss Super League debut was delayed as he watched from the stands.

In Norway, former Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo picked the man-of-the-match award in Sogndal’s 1-0 win in the Norwegian league while the highly-rated Clifford Aboagye played for the Granada B in their win over the weekend.

SPAIN

2013 FIFA U20 World Cup Bronze Shoe winner Clifford Aboagye played for the Granada FC second string side in their 1-0 win over La Hoya Lorca.

ENGLAND Derek Boateng and Emmanuel Frimpong were both unused by Fulham and Arsenal in their clash in the English Premier League on Saturday.

NETHERLANDS Center-half Mitch Apau saw RKC Waalwijk’s 2-2 draw against NEC from the bench.

Baba Abdul Rahman came off the bench to play the last 12 minutes Greuther Furth in their 1-1 draw against FC Koln.

Marcel Appiah played central defence for Arminia Bielefeld who were beaten 3-2 at Ingolstadt.

In the Liga 3, midfielder Evans Nyarko lasted 72 minutes for Borussia Dortmund II when they suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Jahn Regensburg.

Ingolstadt II were beaten 2-0 by Illertissen at their own backyard.

Midfielder Reagy Ofosu played the full 90 minutes for Ingolstadt II.

DENMARK

Esbjerg suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Viborg on Sunday.

Danish-born Kelvin Mensah played 14 minutes for Viborg while defender Davidson Drobo-Ampem played 72 minutes for Esbjerg.

Youngster Kamal Issah lasted the entire 90 minutes of the game for Nordsjælland who suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of OB.

AUSTRIA Defender Isaac Vorsah watched Red Bull Salzburg’s 1-0 win over Admira from the stands.

CROATIA Defender Lee Addy played the full 90 minutes for Dinamo Zagreb when they posted a 3-1 win over Slaven Koprivnica.

DENMARK Defender Dominic Oduro played the last 13 minutes for AGF in their 3-1 win over SønderjyskE on Friday.

FRANCE
