New Eleven Wonders boss Emmanuel Aidoo enjoyed a memorable debut after guiding his team to a 2-0 triumph over Dreams FC in their Ghana Premier League match-day 12 clash.
Mathew Amponsah opened the scoring with a well-placed header in the first half, before centre-back Edmund Afurapoe doubled the advantage with another header after the break.
Despite going down to ten men late on following Felix Akolor’s dismissal, the hosts comfortably saw out the win.
Aidoo, who only recently assumed the role, described the result as the ideal gift on his special day.
“Winning against Dreams FC is a great feeling. You know today is my birthday, so I told my boys and they asked me what do I want. I told them to win this match for me, and that’s what they have done,” Aidoo said.
He praised the group’s commitment, noting that the players delivered exactly what he asked for on a significant day.
The win ends their long wait for a victory but leaves Eleven Wonders still rooted to the bottom with six points.
They now look ahead to a home meeting with Swedru All Blacks, hoping to turn this breakthrough into a steady climb up the table.
