Director of Communications of the Ghana Football Association Henry Asante Twum has added his chorus to supporters not trooping into Ghana Premier league venues to watch games in their numbers.
The worrying situation become the topic of discussion following low patronage at various match venues.
On matchday 10, King Faisal sold 48 tickets in their match against Nsoatreman FC at the famous Kumasi Sports Stadium on week 10.
Subsequently, 21-time league champions Hearts of Oak were only capable of attracting 188 fans to the Cape Coast stadium during their week 11 game with Tamale City.
Asante Kotoko and Great Olympics have all struggled getting their match centres full for matches.
When asked about low attendance on Asempa FM, Henry Asante Twum said:
“…”But in recent times it is not going well. When I think about it constant engagement with the owners of the club you know we have owners in two folds the owners club those who invest in the club that is CEO, patron, board member etc. But the real owners of the club are the fans on the street if there is no constant reminder and you don’t speak to their conscience forget it.”
