Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Nartey Ogum has described their week five encounter against Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League as a ‘very tactical’ and challenging game, despite their narrow 1-0 victory at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.
Albert Amoah’s decisive goal secured the win for the Porcupine Warriors, extending their unbeaten run.
However, Ogum emphasized the tactical nature of the game and how his team had to adjust to counter their opponent’s strategy.
“Very tactical game, If you look at the way they played, they decided to play from the back and keep the ball in half spaces so that they can be able pick the ball but we were able to identify their plan and we applied a strategy to stop them,” Ogum said.
“I think It is a good sign that we are playing well, once we are creating the chances, going forward they will start scoring and will get the confidence.
Kotoko now sit at the top of the league standings with 11 points.
Their next fixture will see them travel to the capital to face struggling Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Stadium in the ongoing top-flight competition.
