Samartex head coach Christopher Ennin was left disappointed after his side surrendered a late lead to draw 1-1 with Medeama SC in their Ghana Premier League clash on Friday.
The Timber Giants looked poised for victory following Dramani Awuah’s stunning first-half goal from near the halfway line, but Kingsley Braye’s late equaliser rescued a point for the defending champions.
“It was quite a good game, but unfortunately, we just gave the game out,” Ennin admitted after the match. “We still have to work on how to hold such pressure when we are in the lead. Lack of concentration cost us.”
He added, “I was expecting them to back their game up and stop sitting deep. I was shouting at them, but they tried to defend the goal.”
Despite the draw, Samartex remain unbeaten this season with two wins and four draws from six games. Ennin’s men will next face newly promoted Hohoe United at the Nsenkyire Arena as they look to get back to winning ways.
