Chris Hughton has expressed his satisfaction after the Black Stars defeated Liberia in an international friendly on Tuesday .
Ghana secured a 3-1 win against the Lone Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium following goals from Ernest Numah, Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew.
It was largely a second string side as Medeama SC left-back Hamid Fatawu, German-based defender Kingsley Schindler and striker Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth all handed starting spots.
Hughton also tried a three-back system for the first time under his tutelage.
“This was important because we are arrive on what we want to do with them leading up to the second game. We tried a different formation because these are the type of games you can try things even though is not the detriment of results we still want to win the game,” Hughson said in a post match interview.
“We still want to be strong. I have seen enough, there are still things we could have done better. At the first half we gave the ball away and it’s was a bit difficult thanks God we settle in quickly find the goals” he added.
Up next for Ghana will next month’s friendly against Mexico and the USA in two separate international friendly games.
