New Ghana coach Chris Hughton has explained his approach to building a squad with a blend of youth and experience.
The 64 year old was officially unveiled during a ceremony at the SG Mall in Kumasi on Monday morning.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager signed a 22-month contract that will see him take charge of the national team until December 2024.
The trainer noted that he intends to build a strong squad with a perfect mix of young and experienced players.
“Remember we went to the world Cup campaign with the youngest squad.
“My plan is to bring in young players and add experienced players. It’s always a mix”.
“I also have an eye on development for the team”, he added.
Hughton’s first task in charge is the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.
Ghana are scheduled host Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
The Black Stars will then travel to Luanda four days later for the reverse fixture at Estadio 11 de Novembro at 17H00.
Ghana are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points from two games following a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in June last year.
