Charlton Athletic owner Thomas Sandgaard excited after successful signing of Ghana goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott

The owner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Charlton Athletic, Thomas Sandgaard has shared that he is excited Ghana goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott has joined the club.

The English League One club on Thursday, June 23, 2022, announced that it has completed the signing of the Black Stars shot-stopper on a three-year contract.

“Charlton Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Joe Wollacott, who was named in the League Two Team of the Season for the 2021/22 campaign.

“Wollacott has signed a three-year deal with the club following the expiry of his contract at Swindon Town,” the English League One club has announced this evening.

Speaking on the new signing, club CEO Thomas Sandgaard had words of praise for the Ghana goalkeeper.

“Joe is a very talented goalkeeper with an exciting future and I’m delighted to be able to bring him to Charlton Athletic. He was in the League Two Team of the Season last year for good reason; he is a good shot-stopper, with a command of his area and is excellent on the ball too, which is important for us given the attacking style of football we are looking to play,” Thomas Sandgaard said as quoted on the website of Charlton Athletic.
