Charles Taylor kicks against retiring number seven jersey in tribute to Christian Atsu

Ex-Ghana International Charles Taylor has kicked claims of retiring Black Stars Number 7 jersey in the name of  late Christian Atsu.

Many have called on the state to honour the late Ghana International on the back of his generosity to the public during his living days.

Atsu was pronounced dead on Saturday morning following the devastating earthquake which kept him under rubble for 12 days.

Taylor has rather advocated for the establishment of an ediface in the name of the player.

“When was the last time he was invited to the National team? Taylor quizzed.
“We can build a monument in one of our stadia to honour his good deeds,”he said via Angel TV.

The 31 year old is among over 40,000 victims across southern Turkey and northern Syria following the two initial earthquakes and the aftershocks.

Atsu played 65 times for Ghana and helped the Black Stars reach the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final in Equatorial Guinea.
