Head coach of Ghana’s Black Princesses, Charles Sampson, is optimistic ahead of his side’s highly anticipated final against Nigeria’s Falconets in the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup on Tuesday, November 11.
Speaking before the decisive clash, Sampson acknowledged Nigeria’s slight advantage in rest days but expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and determination to claim victory.
“Nigeria has a bit of an edge over us because they’ve had a rest in between, but we face them again in the same manner, having played Benin before meeting them. That gives them a bit of an advantage, but we’re also out to win against them today. Our match preparation is going all out, and we’re looking forward to it as a good test for us,” he told ghanafa.org.
The Black Princesses’ coach added that his technical team had studied the Nigerians closely and developed a tactical plan to counter their strengths.
“We have identified some of Nigeria’s strengths and will work out how to capitalize on them. This is what football is about — seeing how mature our players are to take instructions and perform better than the opponent,” Sampson added.
Ghana will be seeking revenge after losing 3-1 to Nigeria earlier in the tournament.
