Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf has revealed that his prime target is to qualify his country to the Championship of African Nation and not to take revenge against Ghana
Nigeria will play away to Black Gallaxies in the first leg of the tie which will take place at Cape Coast stadium on August,28 with the return fixture slated five days later at the MKO Abiola National Stadium.
Yusuf was part of Austin Eguavoen’s technical team that Ghana eliminated to book a ticket to this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“I won’t say we are seeking to get revenge against Ghana because of what happened with the last game on the road to the Qatar World Cup,” he said ahead of the tie.
“We want to win and qualify for the final stage of the competition in Algeria next year. That is basically what we are pursuing.”
“However, if we beat them to the ticket, which we definitely hope to achieve, then whatever description anyone gives it should be a matter of choice.”
The winner qualifies for the 7th African Nations Championship finals to be staged in Algeria early next year.
