Black Galaxies coach Annor Walker has explained why Mohammed Alhassan of Hearts of Oak was omitted from the provisional squad for the CHAN tournament.
The 62-year-old named 40 players to begin preparations for the main tournament in Algeria coming January.
The Hearts of Oak defender was pivotal in the country’s qualification to the African competition, scoring against Benin in Cape Coast in the prelims.
However, he was nowhere to be found in the list who are set to start camping in the coming days.
“If Mohammed Alhassan is not part of the squad, it is my own decision and I don’t understand why people are talking about it.” Walker told Ghanasportspage.com.
“Almost five player was excluded, but why will they talk about Mohammed Alhassan only? To be honest, Mohammed Alhassan failed to get enough playing time at the club level.” He said.
“Even Vincent Atinga’s name is missing from the squad but no one is asking about his exclusion. There’s no problem.”
The tournament is scheduled to kick-off from January 13 to February 4.
