Former Black Galaxies forward Yahaya Mohammed is backing the current team to “shine in Algeria” at the Championship of African Nations.
After an eight-year absence, the team made a return to the CHAN competition and are in Algiers preparing for it’s commencement scheduled for 13 January.
Annor Walker’s side have won all four high-profile friendlies with an aggregate scoreline of 9-2.
“I have a strong belief in the current Black Galaxies team that they will surely shine in Algeria.
“We have good materials in the team and they are the best players in our Ghana League and I believe they will surely fight hard for victory,” Yahaya Mohammed said in an interview with Original FM.
“The players should put up their minds that they will use this opportunity to sell themselves and die for their country,” he admonished.
Ghana will open their campaign on 15 January against Madagascar before taking on Sudan four days later.
Their final Group C match will be against tournament-favourites Morocco on 23 January.
