CHAN 2022: Ghana to earn $2m if crowned winners

Ghana will pocket a sum of $2m, should they emerge winners of the 2022 African nations Championship in Algeria.

The amount is an increase of 750,000 USD from the winner of the last edition in Morocco.

The runners-up will get US$800,000 while the third and fourth-placed teams will receive $500,000 each.

Confideration of African Football released a statement on Friday, January 27, 2023 and it reads

“The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced a significant 60% increase on the prize money for the winner of ongoing TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Algeria 2022.”

Ghana is chasing it’s first trophy in the competition after finishing second in 2009 and 2014.

Coach Annor Walker’s side are through to the quarter-finals and will come up against Niger on Saturday for a place in the last four.
