Ghana’s encounter with Mozambique was ended abruptly in a bizarre fashion following reluctance of the East Africans to restart the match at the 5 July 1962 Olympic Stadium in Algiers.
The end-to-end stuff match saw Mozambique opened the scoring in the 39th minute.
After mass changes in the second half, the Black Galaxies upped their tempo in search for an equaliser which led to a penalty after a Mozambican player handled the ball in the box
with 20 minutes to go.
In a farcical scene, their head coach stepped onto the field and ordered his players to leave the field.
All attempts to get the match to restart proved futile as Mozambique were adamant.

The Ghana team have returned to the team hotel and focusing on the clash on Sunday in their opening CHAN match against Madagascar on January 13.
The Black Galaxies are in group C alongside Madagascar, Sudan and Morocco respectively.
