Ghana’s all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan will joined some selected African legends invited by CAF to partake in the Opening ceremony of the upcoming 2023 CHAN tournament in Algeria.
The competition for home-based players on the continent will begin in 13th January, 2022.
Heavyweights like Didier Drogba, Jay Okocha, Yaya Touré, Hadji Diouf, Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor and Karim Hagui were handed invitations.
It is the first time 18 teams are participating in the competition since it was introduced in 2009 with all the teams divided into three different pots based on their previous performance in their last three CHAN appearances.
Ghana have been drawn with defending champions Morocco, Madagascar and Sudan in Group
