Celta de Vigo vs Getafe CF – 24/10/2022

Celta Vigo and Getafe Unlikely to be Separated in La Liga This Weekend

3269

14th and 17th will meet in La Liga this weekend as both Celta Vigo and Getafe look to move on from winless runs in the Spanish top flight at the Estadio de Balaídos as just one point separates the two sides early on in the latest season.

Neither side can breathe easy in La Liga right now with such a topsy-turvy nature in the bottom half of the table.

Teams have so far switched in and out of the bottom three and there is not much to separate Cadiz in 19th and 11th-placed Valladolid.

Celta Vigo, however, sit a little more comfortable than Getafe ahead of this one and are now two points above the bottom three.

The club have let in 20 goals so far in the league, however, which is incredibly worrying moving forward in the division.

What’s more, only 20th-placed Elche have conceded more with their 24 in La Liga, and with Celta Vigo also scoring just 11 of their own, they have the worst goals difference record in La Liga after 10 games for those outside of the relegation zone.

They have still managed to secure three wins in the season so far, drawing just once, but losing the other six encounters.

What’s more, with a terrible 4-1 loss to Valladolid in midweek, they’ve fallen even further away from the top half of the table and now extended their unbeaten run to three games.

They also lost to Real Sociedad 2-1 last weekend at home, after a 1-0 defeat at the Nou Camp to Barcelona. Their last victory came in a narrow 1-0 victory against Real Betis at the start of the month.

As for Getafe, it’s once again been a struggle for them throughout the entire campaign and after another draw, they are now on a winless run of four games since beating Osasuna 2-0 away from home.

They did also manage to beat Real Sociedad just prior to this as well, but with a 3-2 loss to Valladolid, a 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid and draws with Rayo Vallecano and Athletic Club, they have picked up just two points in August and not won since before the international break.

In fact, those two wins on the spin in September are the club’s only victories in La Liga so far. What’s more, they have let in an alarming 18 goals so far in the league, scoring 10 of their own.

Forebet now predicts a draw here and under 2.5 goals.
