On Saturday evening, Celta Vigo host Osasuna at the Abanca-Balaidos in La Liga as the home team looks to return to form in the Spanish top-flight.

Eduardo Coudet’s team has been in poor form of late, as a 3-1 defeat against Almeria last time out means that Celta has failed to win in five games, having suffered four losses in the process. The game also followed a concerning defensive trend for the home team, as they conceded at least two goals for the fifth time in eight La Liga outings.

Their recent poor form and, in particular, defensive displays have seen Celta drop to 16th place in the league table, just a point above the league’s relegation zone.

Celta Vigo’s recent home form has been the definition of inconsistent, as they have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six league matches on home soil. Their recent home games have at least offered entertainment value, as five of their last eight matches have produced over 2.5 goals.

The visitors are certainly experiencing a better campaign than the home team. Osasuna are currently in seventh place in the Spanish top-flight table, just a point outside the European spots.

Arrasate’s team are unbeaten in their last three games, having recorded two wins and a draw in the Spanish top flight. A 2-0 win over Real Valladolid last time out means that seven of Osasuna’s last eight league games have produced under 2.5 goals.

Osasuna’s away record has been poor of late in La Liga, winning just one of their previous eight matches in the Spanish top-flight on their travels.

What does Forebet predict?
