CD Leganes vs Granada CF – 27/11/2022

Leganes to Edge Past Granada in the Segunda Division

Leganés and Granada will meet at the Estadio Municipal Butarque this weekend in the Segunda Division as 13th plays hosts to sixth in what is a vital game for the promotional desires of both sides as just four points separate the two in the league.

There are seven places that keep these two at a distance from one another, but with four points only the difference, it shows how closely matched many have been this season in the Segunda Division.

For Leganes, it has been a struggle, however, with them being very inconsistent from start to finish.

The club have now let in 16 goals and conceded the same amount, which although is not the worst defensive record in the division, only Huesca have scored fewer goals than them this campaign for those inside the top half.

Leganes’ record is also quite alarming with seven games now lost and just six won from the 16 games played so far. The club have also drawn three times in the league and are yet to win more than two games on the spin across the entire campaign.

They have also recently been knocked out of the Copa del Rey to Gernika in the first round. It’s one of the worst results in Leganes’ Copa del Rey history after a 0-0 draw throughout the match forced a penalty win for Gernika.

The 13th-placed side also drew 2-2 with Sporting Gijon last time out in the Segunda Division as goals from Jose Arnaiz and Ruben Pardo created a commendable comeback win.

Leganes also have a total of six shots on target that day in what was a solid performance away from home.

As for Granada, they are up into fourth after a sensational 4-0 win over Albacete. It does put them above Andorra, Huesca, Villarreal B and Cartagena in the table now, while also being just two points adrift of fifth-placed Eibar and fourth-placed Levante.

Granada also made relatively easy work of their Copa del Rey battle with Yelcano, beating them 3-2 in the first round.

This means a two-game winning run for Granada, which did end a previous three-game winless run as Cartagena and Levante drew with them 0-0 before Oviedo beat them.

Forebet predicts a win here for Leganes and for the game to see under 2.5 goals as the club aim to get inside the top half ahead of December.
