Cameroon know they must beat Brazil on Friday night to stand any chance of progressing from Group G, as the 2022 World Cup knockout phase looms.
The Brazilians have already booked their place in the last 16 following back-to-back wins. As a result, they sit atop the group – three points clear of second-place Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Cameroon find themselves third – two points behind the Swiss and five points behind Brazil. They also need the result of the other game in Group G to go in their favour.
The Cameroonians were beaten 1-0 by Switzerland in their opening game. Despite recording five shots on target, they failed to avoid defeat last week.
They appeared to be on the verge of another loss last time out, with Serbia 3-1 up midway through the second half. However, goals from Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting saw them snatch a draw.
Cameroon have now played a whopping 16 games in 2022, registering six wins, six draws and four defeats across all competitions.
The African side have been relatively inconsistent this year, meaning they are likely to struggle against Brazil.
As for the Brazilians, they kicked off their campaign with back-to-back victories to punch their ticket to the knockout phase.
A Richarlison brace helped the South Americans beat Serbia 2-0 in their opening game, before Casemiro’s 83rd-minute strike saw them clinch a 1-0 victory over Switzerland.
Brazil have now won each of their previous nine games across all competitions, scoring 29 goals in the process (3.2 goals per game).
On top of that, they have kept seven clean sheets in their past nine outings, highlighting their defensive solidity.
Head-to-head: Cameroon and Brazil have faced each other six times over the years. The Brazilians have claimed five wins, while the Cameroonians have won just once.
Brazil thrashed Cameroon 4-1 at the 2014 World Cup. Four years later, the South American side claimed a 1-0 friendly victory over the Africans.
Team news: Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has been removed from the squad after falling out with manager Rigobert Song.
Brazil are expected to be without Neymar due to injury, meaning Richarlison, Raphinha and Vinicius Junior could form the attack on Friday.
Cameroon showed great spirit to snatch a draw against Serbia last time out, but the African side are expected to struggle against the South American flair of Brazil.
