CAF Confed Cup: Ghana goalie Richard Ofori hero as he saves and scores final penalty to send Orlando Pirates to semi-finals –

Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori was the hero for Orlando Pirates when they beat Tanzanian side Simba SC to progress to the final four of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ofori saved one penalty and scored the final to ensure Pirates overcome Simba with a win in post-match penalty shootouts on Sunday at the Orlando Stadium.

The 26-year-old kept a clean sheet as Pirates prevailed in regular time with a 1-0 win in Johannesburg to make the tie 1-1 on aggregate in the end.

Compatriot Kwame Peprah scored the only goal of the match for Orlando Pirates FC in their Confederation Cup quarter-finals 2nd leg fixture.

Peprah headed home a cross from defender Innocent Maela in the 60th minute to put the Buccaneers on level terms on aggregate.

The game travelled to penalty shootouts and Pirates won 4-3 to progress to the semi-final of the 2021-22 edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ofori saved the first penalty of the shoot-outs to give his team an early advantage in the spot kicks with a brilliant save.

He scored the final spot kick of the shootouts to send Pirates through by winning 4-3 on penalties.
