FC Samartex head coach Nurudeen Amadu has praised his team’s resilience after their hard fought win against Victoria United on Sunday in the return leg of the CAF Champions League
The ‘Timber Boys” emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win over Victoria United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Isaac Afful’s early goal in the 8th minute proved to be the decisive factor, securing a 2-0 aggregate win for FC Samartex.
“We anticipated that it was going to be tough. This is how they played there,” Nurudeen said.
“We know we have a long way to go because we need to learn. It was a difficult game but what is important is that we have won,” he stated.
With this triumph, FC Samartex advances to the next round, where they’ll face Raja Casablanca from Morocco, with a spot in the CAF Champions League group stage hanging in the balance.
