Asante Kotoko have been eliminated from the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League by RC Kadiogo on penalties.
The Porcupines missed two of their penalties which condemned them to the 3-1 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium in the second leg of the qualification.
The Burkinabe side had scored in regulation time as the match ended 1-1 on aggregate following Kotoko’s narrow in in Benin seven days ago.
Kotoko have now been kicked out of the competition and will now have to focus on the Ghana Premier League title and the FA Cup trophy.
Seydou Zerbo’s side have had their two domestic league fixtures postponed on the back of their Africa campaign.
The league champions face Hearts of Oak in their next fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.
