Medeama SC have been dealt a huge blow in their knockout qualification hopes after defeat to Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Ghanaian champions would have had their destiny in their own hands with a win and could have smoothen their qualification to the next stage of the continental competition.
However, Hussein El Shahat third-minute strike in the second half diminished their chances.
The host created changes but couldn’t utilised them to secure a point at the very least.
The Marve and Yellows are at the bottom of the table with just four points.
On the other hand, Al Ahly top the table with nine points with CR Belouizdad and Young Africans occupying the second and third spot respectively with five points apiece.
Medeama SC will travel to Algeria to face CR Belouizdad and anything other than a win knocks them out of the competition.
